The National Indian Youth Leadership Project (NIYLP) is proud to announce its partnership with Dr. Jane Goodall in becoming the Native American affiliate of Roots & Shoots, North America. Roots & Shoots is designed to inspire youth of all ages through service learning projects that show care and concern in three areas: the Environment, Animals, and the Human Community.

Founded by Dr. Jane Goodall, Roots & Shoots is based on the principle that knowledge leads to compassion, which inspires action. Through service projects, youth-led campaigns and an interactive website, Roots & Shoots members are making a difference across the globe.

NIYLP and Roots & Shoots strive to teach young people that they can make a difference in the world. Through innovative interdisciplinary curricula, activities, project ideas, and special events, it is our goal to empower the lives of Native youth within our communities as a means to succeed in this call for national and global change.
